As popular as Donald Trump is, he is not our king, our last hope, or our God-ordained savior as so many have claimed these past few days.
Yes, Trump can make America better, but he can never single-handedly Make America Great Again.
That will require something far bigger than Donald Trump…
Nearly 200 years ago, Alexis de Tocqueville, who helped author our Constitutional Republic, wrote this:
“Not until I went into the churches of America and heard her pulpits flame with righteousness did I understand the secret of her genius and power. America is great because America is good, and if America ever ceases to be good, America will cease to be great…”
Are we hearing righteousness preached from the pulpits of this country?
For the most part, the answer is a resounding NO… There are some, but sadly they are way too few and far between.
Across America, the truth of the Gospel is being diluted so as not to “offend” anyone. It’s being dumbed down to attract Millennials, Gen Z types, and big
donor’s cash. In some so-called churches, judgment is never mentioned and one’s need for repentance is mentioned even less. In too many of these fake “churches” the Gospel is being replaced by drag queens, gay flags, and promises of health, wealth, and your best life now.
Too many “pastors” welcome, coddle, and comfort instead of convicting people of their need for Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.
The power of the Gospel is found in its hard truth. A fluffy, pink, cotton candy, coffee bar version does not save people… it destroys them.
What to Do About it…
Demand neglectful pastors teach the whole counsel of God (Acts 20:27).
Insist they preach hell as well as heaven.
Request they preach sin and salvation.
Ask that they preach about our blessed hope (Titus 2:13–14).
Insist they equip the saints to do the work of ministry (Ephesians 4:12).
Require they preach the certainty of God’s wrath.
Demand they defend the faith against the doctrines of demons (Ephesians 4:13).
Insist they preach how to obtain forgiveness and righteousness through God’s grace and not by being a “good person”.
Ask that they stop trying to create awesome worship experiences and start preaching the Word of God in season and out.
Paul wrote this to Timothy two thousand years ago. It is more important in America today than ever before…
Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching. (2 Timothy 4:2 NKJV)
Will some people leave? Yes, but far more will be attracted.
Our blessed hope is to be in Christ and not in Donald Trump.
Only that will Make America Great Again…

Check out Pastor Allen Nolan at Cornerstone Fellowship in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. He has a YouTube page and an app. He absolutely preaches heaven and Hell and teaches one of the best pastors I’ve ever listened to.!
Franklin Graham once preached in Halifax, at the church whose cemetery guards many of the Titanic’s sinking victims, “The choice is, do I get onto a life-boat or stay on the vessel that human Engineers described as “unsinkable”?
