Catholic Parish Allows Gay Couple to Openly Mock Jesus
The surprise here is not the fact that it was said but the stunning response of those who actually laughed at his blasphemy.
Sometimes things get lost in all the flood of information out there, perhaps not intentionally. But some, as in this case, are important enough to bring to the light of day… even if it has been some months since it happened.
Blake Wilson and Alan Nachtigal, two openly practicing gay men, were given the microphone to speak about baptizing their adopted “son” Cohen at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Minneapolis.
Wilson took the opportunity, perhaps unknowingly I hope, to mock God.
In his own words…
“We were so excited and humbled when JP asked that we would come and talk a little bit about how we decided to uh, uh baptize Cohen in the Catholic faith. And we thought, well it kinda makes sense because just like Jesus, Cohen also has two dads and he turned out pretty great.”
But it gets far worse…
The surprise in this is not the fact that he said it but in the stunning response of those in attendance that morning who actually laughed at his blasphemy.
Two dads? Really? Evidently, no one there that day actually believed in the Trinity? That God and Jesus are the same person? In a supposedly Catholic church?
Sadly, this type of open disregard for Biblical truth these days is not limited to this single incident. Many so-called evangelical Christian churches have done far worse since then when it comes to openly endorsing sexual deviancy from the pulpit, including allowing openly gay and lesbian “pastors” to lead congregations.
Mocking God is no laughing matter. In the end, God will not be mocked…
“Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, this he will also reap.” (Galatians 6:7 NASB)
