New California and Maryland Bills Open the Devil's Door to Infanticide

Under these proposed laws, no one can interfere with baby killers...

I’m angry... really angry.

California Gov. Gavin Newson’s abortion council announced their evil intent to fully legalize the killing of unborn children during all nine months of pregnancy and decriminalize killing newborns days or weeks after birth.

Last week, this new language was added to California Assembly Bill 2223 revealing their horrifying intent. The proposed legislation would protect a so-called mother from civil and criminal charges for any “actions or omissions” related to her pregnancy, “including miscarriage, stillbirth, or abortion, or perinatal death.” Although legal definitions of “perinatal death” vary, all of them include the demise of newborns seven days or more after birth.

The bill from 15th District Democrat Assemblywoman Buffy Wicks also protects anyone who “aids or assists a pregnant person in exercising” these rights. It also allows a woman to sue any police department or legal authority which arrests or charges a woman for hurting or killing her child under provisions of the bill.

Really???

Under AB 2223, even someone like former Philadelphia abortionist Kermit Gosnell, who murdered three infants born alive after botched abortions, could not be prosecuted in California if AB 2223 becomes law. In May 2013, Gosnell was convicted of first-degree murder and sentenced to life in prison without parole.

LifeSite News reported on March 7, 2022, that legislation was filed in the Maryland General Assembly which would allow babies to be left to die up to 28 days after birth. Bill 669 — The Pregnant Person’s Freedom Act of 2022 was scheduled to be heard this past week, but for now, the Maryland General Assembly’s website says the hearing was canceled.

Consider also the 1990s case of a 17-year-old Florida girl, who smothered her newborn to death. A judge sentenced her to two years in prison, psychological counseling, and birth control instruction. If the Maryland legislation was adopted, she would be absolved of any wrongdoing.

What sort of woman would murder a human being she carried to term rather than permit the child to be adopted?

The truth is there are only legitimate two choices for pregnant women… adoption or motherhood. But the only choice that “pro-choice” people believe in is killing.

Abortion advocates buy the lie that adoption doesn’t work. There is no evidence to back up that position. There are millions of families waiting to adopt a child to love and care for as if it were their own. For every child in adoption agencies, numerous families want to be parents.

However, bureaucracy and red tape seem to purposely make it difficult and expensive to adopt a child.

My experience in this is firsthand. I was adopted when I was 18 months old by Joe and Lydia McCraigh. Two years later, they adopted an infant girl who I consider to be my sister. They treated us as if we were their very own children. Lydia worked full-time to help me go to college. She instilled in me a love of reading and cooking. My dad taught me how to drive, fish, and work with tools. I owe them both an immense debt of gratitude. On the other hand, if my biological mother had chosen to abort me, you wouldn’t be reading this right now.

The idea that adoption doesn’t work is a lie from the pit of hell.

Is there now to be no moral distinction between killing a week-old human being and aborting a fetus? California and Maryland lawmakers have crossed far over any rational moral line by seeking to legitimize the killing of hours-old and even month-old infants. This is not about expanding abortion rights... this is about the kind of pure evil that we must never tolerate.

How inhumane has our society become even to consider such things?

Who votes for these politicians? Hopefully, no one who calls themselves a Christian ever would!
