God says for us to try the spirit by the Spirit. I have learned to ask God what to attend and not to attend. I also know God will speak through whomever He pleases for the good of those who need to hear a particular Word from Him for his or her situation. I also know that a whole lot of mess is going on that has God's name forged on it. I do not care about conferences that much. I have gone to a few and seen how certain things are carried out. I also know there are some good ones. Nevertheless, my focus is not on the next conference but on what God has to say to me and what He wants me to speak to others.

I loved Beth Moore's older Bible studies. Then she started over-sharing. Then "teaching" to a regular congregation. And then getting visions. No thanks! Wrong and too weird.

I wouldn't go within 100 miles of Joyce Meyer. Mom used to love her and had several of her books. I nagged and she figured it out pretty quickly.

Word of Faith movement...makes me think, "Danger, Will Robinson. Danger!"

With all of them, I am upset over how many people have been misled. How many people won't go to Heaven because someone taught them they'd be a god of their own planet instead of accepting Jesus as their Lord and Savior? That cult is why I stepped away from "The Piano Guys." No, God doesn't just want you to be happy!!

Thanks for this excellent guide, Jim! I got to go to several Billy Graham Crusades in SoCal! Mom and I went every night he was in Anaheim. I don't know about now, but Harvest Crusade started out good. I was one of the counselors for the first two years.

I'm Southern Baptist but I'd steer clear of the Southern Baptist Convention. The last time I checked their website, it seemed like the only thing they still believed in, and did not accept, was homosexuality. They were pro-life, too.

Thank you for listening! I have a t-shirt that says, "Help! I'm talking and I can't shut up!"

Thanks for posting these recommendations, Jim. I hope you post similar articles in the future. It is noteworthy that Atlanta, GA has seen a resurgence in Christianity (large crowd at Mercedes-Benz coliseum). Franklin Graham now is seen promoting his father's ministry on a regular basis. We can only hope that biblical teaching is being presented. I dearly miss the Billy Graham revivals on television and the golden voice of George Beverly Shea. God willing, the USA will stop its current flow towards becoming the 4th Reich.

By the way, what's wrong with Tim Tebow?

Tim Tebow promotes false teachers. The first Bible verse in the post explains...

2 John 9-1? I guess I don't know (or care) what Tim Tebow believes. Like the games he has played in, not one has affected my life in any way. I just think of the guy who publicly praised YHWH and caught hell for it.

Wow, this is awesome information Jim ..wish we had something like this in Canada. We have a lot of WOKE but not awake Churches The Anglican (I don’t go near Catholic) church especially seems to have been taken over one of my favourite lovely little church, now has a new gay PASTA (intentionally misspelled because he’s very fat too)

I hate the word and term "woke" now because it's been completely ruined! The people who call themselves "woke" have completely twisted up the meaning of that term! All I see these people promoting is inverted beliefs and chaos! Nothing these people say makes any sense to me! I just wish that word and term "woke" would get removed from the English language now! What these "woke" people are promoting has nothing to do with being "awakened" and truly awake to the truth! I do have to be careful when I say "awake to the truth" because people do perceive and see "the truth" differently and what they do consider "the truth!" People have to be so careful today with these TV preachers and TV evangelical people! I've never gotten into watching any of these people on TV preaching because They've always come across to me as "cheesy" 😁and fake, just not authentic and that they are just acting! If people are looking for "truth" reading Scripture and Yahusha/Jesus's teachings is a great place to start!

You are right to avoid the Catholics. I once was one in my youth. They are not a church but a cult...

Jesus came and died for us. God wants to hear DIRECTLY from us, not via an intercessory. The Catholic Bible omits the Ten Commandments law about not making graven images. Priests, confession booths and crucifix necklaces are not necessary. They wear crucifixes to remind how Jesus suffered. Protestants wear plain crosses to remember that He rose on the third day and is no longer on that cross. He now lives for us! ALL of us!!

Don't get me started on some of the other cults...

Jim, this is just excellent work, and I hope people will pay attention to your wise guidance. I'm very sad to hear that Tim Tebow has been a part of The Passion Call on Heaven Conference. And interestingly to me, I tried watching "The Chosen," and by the 3rd episode I stopped, thinking to myself that something about this is not quite right. I appreciate in reading this an affirmation of my wariness. We are in the post-Christian era up to our necks, aren't we?

If it makes you uneasy, walk away! Run away! Remember - GIGO (garbage in, garbage out). I use that sense (AKA the still, small voice) to decide. To each his own but once I get that feeling, I have to walk away. I don't want people to be misled - it's my biggest disagreement with the cults.

That is why cults exist... to mislead! GIGO is an excellent description. That still small voice of yours is discernment.

I've watched a couple of episodes of "The Chosen" too! I'll probably keep watching because I want to see what that TV show is saying and it's message! People have to be careful and not take this TV show as biblical truth! People needs to read the Bible for the truth and the truth about Yahusha/Jesus!

I hope you know I am NOT criticizing YOU. I wish The Chosen had never been made! Non-Christians are very unlikely to be able to understand that it is just a TV show. They may be unable to tell the difference between the show and the Bible.

That kind of thing is why the Mormon church is so successful. They do NOT follow the Bible and they have some pretty bizarre ideas.

Oh no I don't think you're criticizing me! And I agree with you! People have been giving that show negative reviews and I wanted to see what all the fuss was about with that show! I don't really know anything about the Mormons! I was raised Methodist! There's a lot of deception and false prophets around nowadays that have some pretty bizarre teachings!

Good for you, I'd be interested in knowing what you think of it as it goes on. Personally, I can't make myself go on. If I don't believe in it, for me, it's not worth my time, but others like you can do that and let the rest of us know more about it. And you are absolutely right: Read the Bible for the Truth.

Ok sure! When I first learned about this TV show it was already in the second season I believe! I didn't know this TV show existed until I saw some critical reviews about it on my phone! I thought "hmm! What is this all about?" So I decided to check it out! It's been a few months since I watched those 2 episodes! I think I watched it on Hulu or Amazon prime? But yeah since people are giving it critical reviews I definitely want to get back into watching it and is this TV show deceiving people about Yahusha/Jesus!
