Thank you for this insightful post. There is no shortage of people who have co-opted Christianity to spew rhetoric and justify opinions that demonizes other people, either as individuals or as a collective. We learn to criticize sinful behavior or thought, but we love and forgive the sinner. Redemption, the promise of God to deliver us from the presence of sin, is available to all.
History repeating itself? During the French Revolution, the churches and monasteries were desecrated. In Germany under Hitler, the churches folded except for a few like Dietrich Bonhoeffer and Father Bernhard Lichtenberg that I can think of now. They and others of course were executed.
This vermin, yes I said that, supposedly leading congregations in this country are so cowardly they fear social media persecution!
It is painful watching the church cave to the evils of the world. Normalizing abortion and sexual perversion is something I never thought I would witness in my lifetime. I appreciate this recap of happenings of churches around the world. Sadly living in the Bible Belt produces all of what you shared instead of the core Christian values that were here just a few decades ago.
Jesus said that there would be wolves about preaching in his name, but it would not be his message. My basic rule of thumb is Mark12:30-31 (the golden rule). If it does not honor God, or it is harmful to a fellow human it is not Christianity. The golden rule concept is found in most religions. I believe that to be because it is so very important to God.
The demonic rulers are moving from politics (where their influence is decreasing) into the religious realm. This is very similar to how the Israelite's were attacked by Moab as recorded in Numbers. Believers must drive a spear through the ideas that these demonic creatures promote. Actually, most of the religious leadership are unbelievers. Most of the audience is composed of unbelievers. Religion in our time is nothing more than an illusion, a lie. Time to exit these demonic organizations.
2 Timothy 4:3 sums up the Western world in 2022. We have churches putting on rock shows and ignoring scripture because that's what fills up churches in the USSA.
Brought up Free Methodist and indoctrinated to believe the world would end with a giant war at Megiddo with the USA representing goodness and the USSR representing Satan, it has thrown me for a loop to see that Russia may be the last resistance to a truly apostate church.
I bought ten copies of the DVD called " the enemy within " with the idea of having area preachers see first hand of what is going on in the culture.
Most all agreed to watch it, probably 95% refused to watch it. My own preacher finally did watch it, and he seemed to agree with it, but talked down to me angrily, I now believe the man is a coward, he never talks about sin, nor hell, nor cultural issues such as the "gender crisis" and other such issues.
Believe we have learned much about what not to do. Hopefully we can turn that into right action. Still looking for a church in Nashville. Full of churches and nowhere to go.
