Charles Spurgeon will forever be considered one of the wisest men to ever live.

With the extremely rare exception of those who find themselves in an exalted state (enlightened?), no one can say he or she has all the facts or that tomorrow new information will be presented to make that person question his previously held beliefs.

At the risk of being branded as a heretic and a fool, I feel compelled to wonder about the "truth" behind ignoring the Jewish sabbath and exchanging it for Rome's "venerable day of the sun".

Beyond that tired argument, I must confess that I am a fan of the Dead Sea Scrolls' scholar Robert Eisenman. In hiis several books, he points out the fact that the Essenes referred to Saul as "the fool" and "the clown".

A spiritual life should be one of constantly questioning and learning. Did Jesus, a rabbi, really intend to create a new religion or was he a radical rebel-rouser killed by Rome because of his politics? Was Jesus actually a disciple of John the Baptist?

Did the members of the Heaven's Gate cult make a calculated decision - like the heroes of Masada?

Meditation and introspection are important as we are led like cattle into the 3rd World War.
