You are right. Nevertheless, a pastor should seek the Lord for what needs to be preached if the Lord has not given them what to preach. God knows what is needed according to what is unfolding according to His divine plan.
BTW, Martin Luther and John Calvin were an anti-Semites. The Letter to Sardis addressed the reformation period. Hitler sighted Luther many times. Possibly why the Lutheran church so readily sided with Hitler.

We can't even get our pastors to talk about Bible Prophecy as it is literally unfolding before our eyes. We can't even get pastors to mention Isreal's war. People come to church and act as if nothing is even happening in our world...I am astonished.
Our pastors are really into topical preaching but it’s not the same as as expository preaching. Topical can go deep but generally it is sermon ’lite’, that is to say lite has less calories and is less filling. It is more like milk, not meat.
Along with the topical approach come anecdotal stories and jokes, of which I’m not a fan. I see that as a waste of precious time in the pulpit.

Thank you Jim. Well said.
Agreed! Great job, Jim.
Totally agree Jim. Sadly, in too many areas, there are no churches that preach through the Bible. It's no wonder their flocks remain baby Christians.

It’s always time for pastors to speak up.

We have numbers though.
You are absolutely right Marc.... enough already with the personal stories about their kids and comedy club routines!
