Joel Osteen = Non Starter

Prosperity fake since day one. He will reap his acts before the Lord’s judgement.

You had me at Joel Osteen.

This falls under the 'fruit of a poisonous tree' doctrine that we see in judicial circles. Only it isn't restricted to courtrooms. I know a couple of people, one of them a good fried, who think Osteen is a great preacher. Biblical discernment is at an all time low, and the people will perish because of it.

Thanks for continuing to call these kinds of things out.

Thank you for your comments. It is sad to see how many people wish to defend Osteen and the movie...

Thanks for the heads up Jim. If I recall correctly, when a workman broke a wall open in Joel's house while remodeling, he found a huge stash of money. Watched this guy on T.V. once. Looked like all the other huckster T.V. preachers.

Modern Christianity seemingly will do whatever it takes to replace the actual reading of God’s word, which allows the Holy Spirit to speak to us with inspired understanding and revelation.

Cinema can and never will replace that.

Thank you for the forewarning on yet another trash film.

John 8:6-8 NIV

[6] They were using this question as a trap, in order to have a basis for accusing him. But Jesus bent down and started to write on the ground with his finger. [7] When they kept on questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, “Let any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her.” [8] Again he stooped down and wrote on the ground.

James 4:12 NIV

[12] There is only one Lawgiver and Judge, the one who is able to save and destroy. But you—who are you to judge your neighbor?

Heretical teachings, lies and deviations from scripture are all a part of Mr. Osteen's repertoire. You should probably re-read those passages you're citing - read them in context, then apply them in context.

Once you're re-acquainted with the context, take a look at 2 Timothy 3:16.

Bible study - of the whole Bible - in particular Matthew, Luke and John are my basis.

You have researched this extensively, listened to many messages or the church services? Seems most are going with information flying around on social media.

Moving the subject much? You've made a kind of declaration that we shouldn't judge, oh my. This you've been asked to re-evaluate as appropriate. Scripture never tells Christians to remain silent and mute, nor to never judge. On the contrary, we are admonished to expose, rebuke, correct and make disciples.

re: 'researched extensively' I dont need to attend 4 years of college level courses on biology, animal husbandry and field studies to know a cow pie when I see one. Demanding this level of familiarity is absurd. I know unscriptural bloviation when I hear it, and if you'd paid attention when you read those books you would too.

Asked what is your basis of knowledge.

No, you attempted to discredit my observation by intimating a differential between 'extensive research' and the crowd who you've claimed only use social media information. Never once (until THIS message, did you ASK what my basis of knowledge is.)

I'm a pastor of a church where this man's name has come up a few times from Christians who have questions about what they heard. SO yes, I have listened to several of his recorded messages to find out what was disturbing my members and what I found was troubling at best, heretical at worst.

Please, do your own research.

We do not judge, but in love, we must rebuke... and called to expose the things of darkness as written in Ephesians 5:11.

Wow! Thank you for this. The lady who is "in charge" of our Catholic church (because we have no official priest, egads) told me to watch this "Mary" movie on Netflix!!! I told her I do not have Netflix. Good thing! I did, however, previously tell her about this movie about Mary: https://www.immaculatemovie2024.com/ which I did go see in the theater. I also did not realize the Netflix movie was done by Joel Osteen! OMG We really have to watch out for false gospel......

To anyone who would think of watching it: don't.

No good can come from watching it, even if you don't believe the lies they are selling.

Osteen needs to stop this nonsense and repent while there is still time. What an abomination. He will be judged.

1980 I is was in Houston. Attended Lakewood. I knew Joel’s parents John and Dodi. Fine people. John a former missionary in Philippines. Came home to pastor. Built Lakewood. Joel inherited the “ministry”. Has screwed the pooch spiritually, morally and ethically ever since. Tries to be all things to all people or so he thinks. Kid can’t take a stand. No spiritual balls. A zero on the 1-10 scale.

I will never watch this show. Much like the show the chosen, it’s no wonder the Bible prophesies about a great falling away(2 Thess 2:3). Watered down, unscriptural shows like these are ripe for those who don’t have any discernment at all but think it’s biblical. Satan truly is hard at work deceiving people because his days are numbered!

Wow Netflix seeking guidance from Joel Osteen is just like them seeking guidance from the Obama's. They are in a club we are happy to not be a part of. Osteen never even went to seminary school and I don't know much about his father, but I heard he spoke the truth. Osteen is the Pastor to the elites who want a watered-down message to the point where it no longer becomes the word of god.

These TV preachers give me the creeps and they are creepy! Whenever they'd come on the TV channel I was watching I'd listen to what they had to say for a couple of minutes and I could see and feel the fakeness coming off, then I'd change the channel! How people get sucked into that is beyond my understanding, believing everything these preachers say! All these preachers do is put on a dramatic performance for ratings, just like TV shows and movies do! That's why it's called "tel-lie-vison!" Telling lies to people's vision!
