Sounds good but what about all those weird things happening in the states: California fires, burring down of food processing factories in the last few years, mass culling of chickens etc It seems there are forces who are trying to bring the US down. I say keep our sovereign countries and work to get along.
It is a great dream to imagine President Trump doubling the size of the USA. On the other hand, lots of hockey fans in Canada booed the national anthem of the USA before the game. It would be great to drive to the Canadian Rockies without a passport; but I understand the French-speakers of Quebec hate the idea.
It's like being on Mr. Toad's Wild Ride for the first time.
I sympathize with those Canadians who do not wish to be part of our USA but I saw a report recently that showed Canadian citizens waiting in long lines to simply be assigned to a doctor; one gentleman said that he has been on a waiting list for a few years to see a physician. The report further stated that there is a tremendous shortage of Health Care Professionals in Canada; if that is truly the situation I would not want to live in Canada.
I don’t like the idea of adding Canada as a state. It think it would drastically change things in the US and I don’t believe it would be for the better. Also, what may sound good under President Trump, may not be good under another president, possibly a Democrat. And if Trump is offering Trudeau governorship as a new US state with the way their country is suffering now under his leadership? I say no thanks😒
However, as someone else stated, Canada is a sovereign nation and perhaps they just need to work things out on their own through different leadership as the U.S. is trying to do. Also. would the U.S go along with another country wanting us, if we were not the ones in charge? Don't think so.
Canadians do not want to join the US. From my perspective and my friends no one is saying they want to join the US. Our health care is free for everyone. People are not excluded. Yes we pay more taxes. Yes we have less crime and safer gun laws. We also prioritize enjoy women’s health care where women get 1 year maternity leave not 6 weeks like in the US. This allows children time to bond with their mother and for a woman to recover from childbirth. So no we do not want to join the US and lose those rights.
No problem, all the best to you and all our Canadian friends. I truly hope all works out for y'all to be self-sustained, if that is what is actually best.

We need to be careful bringing in that many big government voters. Annealing Canada could change our leaning right country to leaning left.
You make some great points here and I will be linking it today @https://nothingnewunderthesun2016.com/

NO. They are a sovereign nation. Leave them alone.

My Canadian friends are all for it!!
States are free to implement all sorts of things on a state level.
