Regarding the origin of Hamas, your readers may appreciate that the Israeli government reportedly helped launch the terrorist group in the 1980s as a “’counterweight’ to the secularists and leftists of the Palestine Liberation Organization.”

Furthermore, The Balfour Declaration of 1917 issued by the British government is a very important read, in my humble opinion.

This declaration, according to Britannica, “was made in a letter from Arthur James Balfour, the British foreign secretary, to Lionel Walter Rothschild, 2nd Baron Rothschild (of Tring), a leader of the Anglo-Jewish community.”
