What does the American left need to learn about Israel, America, and Guns?
Welcome to the American Faith and Freedom Podcast.
I'm Jim McCraigh.
By now, most people have heard about Hamas' despicable, savage attacks on Israeli citizens last week.
Our prayers and our hearts go out for them.
At the same time, these barbaric acts again shine a light on the foolishness of leftist politicians here in America who continue to advocate for more gun control.
Despite the heinous slaughter of Israeli men, women, children,
and Infants.
Sadly, legal gun ownership in Israel is extremely rare.
When Hamas terrorists went door-to-door looking for unarmed Israelis to capture, torture, and kill, they were defenseless.
And Hamas knew that.
Imagine how different it could have been if the Hamas cowards had been met with the hail of bullets from an armed citizenry.
But could something like that happen here in America?
It's totally conceivable that a drug cartel could overrun a U.S.
border town.
It is highly possible that jihadi cells that the Biden administration has very likely allowed to walk through our southern border could attack a population center like New York City.
Without proper access to firearms, Americans would be helpless to defend themselves against these kinds of threats, much less everyday crime.
Last month, Democrat New Mexico Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham displayed her own brand of world-class ignorance by announcing an unconstitutional 30-day ban on law-abiding citizens carrying guns in crime-ridden Albuquerque.
What kind of people is Grisham talking about?
Would those be the licensed gun owners who have gone through safety classes, a background check, and fingerprinting, which are all required to get a concealed carry permit in the state of New Mexico?
Those people?
A 2022 SafeWise survey named Albuquerque as the number three most dangerous city in America in terms of violent crime, and it's also now number one in property crime.
When challenged, Grisham reluctantly admitted that criminals would probably not obey the ban.
The good news is that a federal judge quickly put a halt to her dangerous gun-carry ban.
Lujan Grisham has since modified her order to apply only to parks and playgrounds, effectively making them gun-free zones, which are now easier targets for those who would harm children.
The evils of Hamas should be a wake-up call for all Americans, but especially the American left, that our Second Amendment rights are exactly what helped prevent similar events here.
