"Andy Stanley teaches that believers should, in his words, “unhitch” themselves from portions of Old Testament Scripture."

When I was a young believer, I would watch his sermons. I visited North Point almost 20 years ago. I stopped listening to him ages ago, but was gobsmacked by such a statement as the above quote. If Christ found it important enough to hold people accountable to it, I think it should be important to us. Well done, sir.

I’m with you on most of those heretical leaders in your list. I’m curious though on what your issue(s) are with Francis Chan. Full transparency - I haven’t looked into it. I’ve listened / watched him from time to time over the years. Not habitually…. I read his first bestseller - crazy love - but was a brand new believer at the time. I don’t recall seeing or hearing too much in his teaching that - you know - really “rang my bell” and caused me to go “hmmm.” Again. I’ve done no research on this on my part.

Someone who HAS “rang my bell” and made me say “hmmm” has been David Platt. Lots of folks like him, but … I don’t know. Something about him just doesn’t sit right.

Enjoy your articles!

Maybe we should try praying for these children if God, instead of writing lengthy articles of their wrongdoing, ...

Not one word you've written will help them, only JESUS, SO LETS all come down off our superior believer complex, and pray for these people

Thank you for your thoughtful comment. Yes, I agree that we should be praying for him. However, my purpose in writing that piece is to warn people about the unbiblical nature of his teaching.

He is the perfect example of a demon presenting as a angel of light. Leading untold numbers of souls to the lake of fire. Curse his ministry

God said that he will be especially hard on these ear-tickling false prophets. Pray that they may be granted repentance.

We found ourselves in a church where the pastor was super into Andy Stanley. We used his Orange curriculum in our children’s ministry. Thankfully the Lord opened our eyes and we got out. I am amazed how easily swayed I was.

Thank you Jim. It's heartbreaking but reinforces what God's word tells us. One can tell in your writings that you take no glee in the content nor use it as sensationalism.
